The question we get most about sea moss is not what it is. It is which jar to buy. Open our Sea Moss Gel page and you have six flavors and three jar counts to choose from, and that is a lot of options for something you have maybe never tasted.
So this is the short guide we would give you if you were standing at our counter. What every jar has in common, what changes from flavor to flavor, what each one costs online, and a simple way to choose.
What every jar has in common
Every flavor starts in the same place. Griffy's Sea Moss Gel is made from wild grown sea moss harvested off the volcanic coast of St. Vincent. The label on each jar says it plainly: Wild Crafted Sea Moss, Origin Saint Vincent.
Each jar holds 16oz of gel. There are no fillers and no preservatives in any of them. The fruit flavors add one ingredient to the sea moss, and that is the whole list.
How you use it does not change with the flavor either. The three ways we suggest are the same for every jar:
- Add it to smoothies
- Stir it into tea
- Take it straight by the spoon
The six flavors, jar by jar
Here is what goes into each one, in the words our product pages use.
Golden Sea Moss. Wild crafted sea moss, and nothing added to it. This is the base jar, and at $34.95 for one jar of Sea Moss Gel it is the lowest price of the six.
Strawberry Sea Moss. Wild crafted sea moss and strawberry. Our page sums it up as sweet strawberries in every spoonful. One jar of Strawberry Sea Moss Gel is $39.95.
Blueberry Sea Moss. Wildcrafted sea moss and blueberries. On our shelf it goes by Wild Blueberry Sea Moss Gel. One jar of Wild Blueberry Sea Moss Gel is $39.95.
Mango Sea Moss. Wildcrafted sea moss and mango, described on its page as a mango twist. One jar of Mango Sea Moss Gel is $39.95.
Pineapple Sea Moss. Wildcrafted sea moss and pineapple, with what we call a sweet pineapple kick. One jar of Pineapple Sea Moss Gel is $39.95.
Blue Spirulina Sea Moss. Wildcrafted sea moss and blue spirulina. It is the deep blue jar on the shelf. One jar of Blue Spirulina Sea Moss Gel is $49.95.
How to pick yours
If you want an easy rule, pick by where the gel is going.
Going into tea. Golden is the natural pick. It is sea moss on its own, so it takes on the tea you stir it into instead of adding fruit to it.
Going into a smoothie. Match the fruit you already blend. A strawberry banana smoothie takes Strawberry. A berry bowl takes Blueberry. Anything tropical takes Mango or Pineapple.
Going straight off the spoon. This is where the fruit flavors earn their place. If a plain spoonful is not for you, start with Strawberry or Mango.
You want the one that stands out. Blue Spirulina, the deep blue jar.
You still cannot decide. Start with one jar of a fruit flavor and one jar of Golden, and see which one you reach for.
One jar, two or three
Every flavor comes as 1, 2 or 3 jars on the same page, priced as multiples of the single jar. Here is the full list from our online store:
- Golden Sea Moss Gel: $34.95 for 1 jar, $69.90 for 2, $104.85 for 3
- Strawberry, Blueberry, Mango or Pineapple Sea Moss Gel: $39.95 for 1 jar, $79.90 for 2, $119.85 for 3
- Blue Spirulina Sea Moss Gel: $49.95 for 1 jar, $99.90 for 2, $149.85 for 3
Multi-jar options are set per flavor, so 2 or 3 jars means 2 or 3 of the same one. If you want to mix, add each flavor to your cart on its own.
If you take a spoonful most days, the 2 and 3 jar options save you a reorder. If you are trying sea moss for the first time, one jar is the right place to start.
What we will not tell you
You will find plenty of sea moss pages online that promise a lot. We would rather tell you what is in the jar, where it comes from and what it costs, and let you decide how it fits your day. If you have a question about whether sea moss is right for you, that is a conversation for your doctor, not a product page.
Where to find us
Every flavor is on one page online: Sea Moss Gel. If you live on the Jersey Shore, we also have stores in Asbury Park, Colts Neck, Lincroft, Long Branch, Red Bank and Sea Girt, where we pour juice that is cold-pressed daily and never HPP.
Pick a flavor, start with one jar, and tell us which one you end up reaching for.
